Hi Folks,
I had v7.02 working fine on a GV250 card under windows 2000. A PC user error lost the windows user accounts, once I had this sorted out the old GV passwords no longer worked. I've uninstalled and re-installed GV {including registry cleaning} but no luck.

The manual suggests a re-install of windows is required [*!*], does anyone have any other ideas?

Try this
Set up another user administrator account in windows 2000. Then log off existing user and log into new user. Geovision should prompt you to enter new password like when you first setup the dvr. Then you can log back into the other user and you should be able to use the same password that you just created. Good luck... Let me know if it works for you.

You could also try running the password removal tool.
Found under GV250/Passuninst.exe

If you have (had) 'allow removing password system' ticked in the password setup screen then running this tool will reset your supervisor password for you.

The next time you run GeoVision it will prompt you to choose your Supervisor password - like it's a fresh install of the software.

Does anyone know if this will remove the settings? I cannot seem to recall where I can add new users with different rights, will this reveal it to me?

The Password Removal Tool will not alter your GeoVision settings. It will remove all existing users. They simply need to be created again.

To manage users and passwords, do the following:

Configure Icon (hammer and screwdriver) > Password Setup > Local Account Edit

From here you can create users, and change their rights.
