Guide to Fixing 'Can't Find Keypro' Problem

"Card Setup fail"--> That meaning our system can't detect your GV800V2 capture card. Please check your drivers first from "Device Manager\Audio, Video and Game Controller" to see if the related drivers are still there. If you GV800V2 driver install successfully will to show 8 devices. GV800V2 card must to install different driver. The GV800V2 capture card, will to show "GV800V2 Video Capture #A~#D" and "GV800V2 Audio #A~#D".

According to my experience, I can tell you that the reason why the
"Can't find Key-pro" message pops up is due to the loose of the driver.
To the "Can't find Keypro" issue, could you please double check the driver under "Device Manager\Audio, Video and Game Control" and see if they are still there. However, here I would like to offer a way to solve this problem. Please follow the instructions to accomplish the driver setting:

Windows 98/ME

Step 1: Remove all GV-Series Video capture and GV-Series Audio device from windows "Device Manager".
(ex, GV800V2 Video capture #A~#D and GV800V2 Audio #A~#D)

Step 2: Remove all GV-Series.inf and AGV-Series.inf form C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER
(ex, GV800V2V.inf and GV800V2A.inf or GVA.inf)

Step 3: Remove all GV-Series.sys and AGV-Series.sys from C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS (ex, GV800V2.sys and AGV800V2.sys and AGV.sys)

Windows 2000/XP

Step 1: Remove all GV-Series Video capture and GV-Series Audio device from windows "Device Manager".
(ex, GV800V2 Video capture #A~#D and GV800V2 Audio #A~#D)

Step 2: Remove all oem*.inf and oem*.pnf form C:\WINNT\INF\

(ex, oem0~5.inf and oem0~5.pnf)

Step 3: Remove all GV-Series.sys and AGV-Series.sys form C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
(ex, GV800V2.sys and AGV800V2.sys and AGV.sys)

Step 4: When you finished above steps, then reinstall the GV800V2 driver from the "Device Manager".

Step 5: After finishing the installation, please go to "Device Manager\Audio, Video and Game Controller" to take a look whether the GV800V2 Audio #A~#D and GV800V2 Video Capture #A~#D are existing.

When you finished above steps, if still have the same problem, the problem is that the Registry value is error. Please run C:\GV800\Dos2kreg.exe to re-register in the windows or please contact us to return the card.

I followed all the steps listed in this post, and I still get the keypro error message. In my Device Manager it lists the GV800V2 Audio #B (C and D) and the GV800V2 Video Capture #B (C and D) are all marked with a yellow exclamation point symbols

When I try to update the drivers on these they just say that I already have the most up to date driver.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Phil

It could be a compatibility issue with the motherboard. Some SIS, and all VIA chipsets are not supported by GeoVision. Please reply with you motherbaord information, and I can check the compatibilty

keypro missing

Postby philnixon » Wed Sep 29, 2004 6:25 pm

Hello support
I have just spent the last 2 days watching the can't find keypro note appearing and then having the pc reboot every few minutes....I have reformatted the c drive now in an effort to cleanse the system of any gremlins....taken the card out (gv800-4) all to know avail.
The systems been up and running just fine for 9-12 months but recently decided to lockup and generally not capture motion except after regular manual reboots....hence c drive reformat and reinstall of windows 2000.

When I first installed the drivers from new, the whole thing was a breeze but for some reason both install discs I now have refuse to put the drivers in.
I have been through the install procedure outlined above and still see yellow exclamation marks against the video and audio drivers just like an earlier report from another member phil...no relation

I do like a challenge but this is a bit to far!!

looking forward to some sleep...phil nixon

keypro/drivers not found

Postby philnixon » Thu Sep 30, 2004 10:53 am

Hello support..at last success, I followed your guide above to the letter.

Just a little note though, ....I had trouble finding in win2000 the folder C:\WINNT\INF\ The folder 'INF' was not displayed at all under WINNT

I did search using 'C:\WINNT\INF\' as search term and bingo there it was, so perhaps its a hidden folder on my pc.

Thanks Joss for guidance as to which inf & pnf files to remove (open them and delete any with any reference to gv800/geovision contained in them)

Hope the above is of some use to others getting the keypro/drivers can't be found.

Hi all,

After an outage my pc booted ok but froze loading geovision (900)

Decided to uninstall/ reinstall geovision (was using 6.05)

Install stalled with(install to directory previously used for geo - which it was) so I deleted directory completely and installed 5.40.

Then got keypro message.

Uninstalled all drivers from device manager, reinstalled them same message.

Over two days followed all advice including changing slots, many reboots, manually cleaning out all system files/ directory kets (that I can find) but no joy.

every time I install drivers it claims they are ready for use (XP) and a visit to device manager show them all ok.

However they are not in "sound, video and game controllers" as I thought they used to be but under a new heading "dvr system".

Is this OK? On another system (800) with XP they are under the "sound etc" heading.

Thanks for any help.

Alan.

check device manager to see if the drivers for the card are installed.
If not, update the drivers.
